Privacy Policy

OpinionAIted is owned and operated by Xelleron Pty Ltd ("OpinionAIted", "we", "us", "our") until such time as the OpinionAIted business is transferred to a separate company (see "Change of ownership" below). We are committed to protecting the privacy of our guests and website visitors, and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it.

Personal information we collect

We collect two broad categories of personal information:

We do not currently offer accounts, sign-ups, or any form that collects financial or payment information, so we do not collect that information.

How we use personal information

Guest information is used to credit the guest on their interview page (name, business, and backlink), to publish and promote the interview, and to contact the guest about their interview — for example, to send them their page link, or to correspond about a removal request. Technical visitor information is used only to operate, maintain, and improve the site.

Disclosure of personal information

We do not sell personal information to third parties. This is separate from our Terms and Conditions, under which OpinionAIted may license or sell published interview content (the video, transcript, and related material a guest has already agreed to make available) to other companies — that concerns published interview content, not private contact details, and is covered in our Terms and Conditions, not this policy.

We may disclose personal information to service providers who help us run the site (such as our hosting provider) insofar as reasonably necessary for that purpose, or where required by law, regulation, court order, or similar legal process.

Some of our service providers (including our hosting provider and Google, described below under "Analytics" and "Embedded YouTube videos") are based outside Australia, so personal information may be processed outside Australia as a result.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site — for example, which interview pages are viewed and how visitors arrive at the site. Google Analytics collects information such as approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, referring site, and time spent on the site, using cookies and similar technologies. This information is processed by Google and is not linked to your name or email address unless you have separately given that to us (see "Personal information we collect" above). For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.

Embedded YouTube videos

Interviews are embedded from YouTube using a click-to-play thumbnail: no connection is made to YouTube, and no YouTube cookies are set, until a visitor actively clicks to play a video. Once a video is played, standard YouTube and Google data practices apply, described in Google's Privacy Policy. As explained in our Terms and Conditions, OpinionAIted may in future stop using YouTube in favour of another way of hosting or serving video, which would change this section accordingly.

Cookies

Google Analytics (see "Analytics" above) sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure how the site is used. If you play an embedded video, YouTube/Google may also set cookies as described above; our hosting provider may also use technical, non-tracking cookies necessary to serve the site. OpinionAIted does not otherwise set its own cookies. If we introduce further cookies or tracking tools beyond Google Analytics in future, this policy will be updated to describe them before they are used.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Access to your personal information

You may request details of the personal information we hold about you, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), by emailing support@xelleron.com. If you believe any information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete, contact us at the same address and we will correct it where appropriate.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we've handled your personal information, please email support@xelleron.com with the details. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Change of ownership

If control of the OpinionAIted business changes — including if OpinionAIted is spun out of Xelleron Pty Ltd into a separate company, or the business is otherwise sold or transferred — the personal information we hold may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction, to be held under this policy or a materially similar successor policy.

Children's privacy

OpinionAIted is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, including to reflect new analytics tools, a change in video hosting, or a change of ownership described above. Changes take effect once posted on this page. Please check back periodically for the current version.
